The Extremadura company Valsolar 2006 S.L. will inaugurate on April 25 a three megawatt photovoltaic solar park with 390 double-axis trackers located in the municipality of Badajoz. The new plant, called ‘La Portuguesa’, is located at kilometer 7 of the road to Oliva de la Frontera and is the second solar park promoted by this company that has been connected to the electricity grid, as reported yesterday by the company itself.
Valsolar is currently promoting a “multimodal” renewable energy project called ‘La Foresta’, together with the Oliva de la Frontera City Council and the company E-On. The project consists of three wind farms, with a total power of 100 megawatts; several photovoltaic installations, with solar trackers that reach a power of 95; a solar thermal installation of 50 megawatts and a biomass power generation plant.
Valsolar also collaborates with the University of Extremadura (UEx) in renewable energy projects.
